AI training for finance

AI training for finance teams.

Our AI training for finance teams puts accuracy first. Your team practises Copilot in Excel, Word and Outlook, plus ChatGPT, on the kind of work they do every month, from management account notes to inbox admin, and learns exactly which data never goes into a tool. Private, hands-on sessions for groups of up to 12.

  • Accuracy before speed
  • Sensitive data kept out

A wrong number is worse than a slow one

AI tools are quick and fluent, which is exactly why finance people are right to be wary. A summary that reads well but gets a figure wrong can do more damage than a report that took an extra hour. So the first thing we cover is checking: how to trace an answer back to the source data, when to recalculate by hand, and which jobs AI shouldn't be doing at all.

Once that habit is in place, people relax and start finding the real time savings.

Where it helps in a finance week

Most of the gains come from the writing and admin around the numbers, rather than the numbers themselves:

  • Excel: formula help, tidier data and a second pair of eyes on trends
  • Reporting: first-draft notes for management accounts
  • Papers: shorter, clearer versions of long reports
  • Email: routine replies drafted fast, then checked
  • Meetings: Teams recaps after close calls.

Before the day we ask which jobs swallow the most hours, then build the practice around those, with your own templates where policy allows.

What stays out of the tool

Payroll files, bank details, customer ledgers and unpublished forecasts are exactly the data finance teams hold, and exactly what mustn't leak. Every session draws the lines clearly: approved tools only, nothing personal or commercially sensitive in anything unapproved, and a named person signing off whatever reaches a client, an auditor or the board.

We also explain the difference between Copilot inside your own Microsoft 365 setup and a free tool in a browser, and why that matters for your policies.

In-house teams and practices

The training works for in-house finance teams, accountancy practices and bookkeeping firms alike. Groups of up to 12 train at your premises anywhere in the UK, at a venue or live online, so you can slot a half day into the week after a close. People who've been on our workshops rate them 5/5.

Licensed for Copilot? We build the session from [Microsoft Copilot for Business](/programs/microsoft-copilot-training), or from [AI for Business](/programs/ai-for-business-training) if ChatGPT is your main tool. Training another department as well? See AI training for HR teams.

Good to know.

No. We use sample or anonymised data shaped like your own reports, so nothing sensitive goes near a tool during training.
