What does an electrician's website cost?

What does an electrician's website cost?

In short

What an electrician's website costs with DLR Media, what each price gets you, and the pages that win EV charger, rewire and EICR work.

With us, an electrician's website costs £1,500 + VAT for a one-page site or £4,500 + VAT for a lead generation site of up to 20 pages. You can spread either over 12 months instead, at £149 or £499 a month + VAT with nothing upfront, and hosting is £19.99 or £49.99 a month, with SSL included. Which one you need comes down to how many kinds of electrical work you want to win online and how many towns you want to be found in.

Here's what each option buys an electrician, what the site has to say to win the job, and what costs extra.

What does an electrical work website have to prove?

Three things: that you do this particular job, that you cover the customer's street, and that you're allowed to sign the work off. That last one matters for any notifiable electrical work, and it belongs on your website.

In England, GOV.UK's guidance on when you need building regulations approval, last updated in January 2025, lists replacing fuse boxes and connected electrics, and changing electrics near a bath or shower, among work that can need approval. It then tells homeowners: "You do not need to get approval yourself if you use someone registered with a competent person scheme." The Planning Portal's 2026 guidance on electrics and building regulations adds that a registered electrician self-certifies notifiable work, arranges for the customer to receive a Building Regulations compliance certificate within 30 days and gives them a completed Electrical Installation Certificate.

That's a reason to choose you, and it costs nothing extra to put on your site. If you're registered, we name your scheme beside your phone number and on every job page, and explain in one line that the paperwork is handled. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules, so the wording follows the rules where you work.

What does the one-page website include?

A custom-designed, hand-coded page, written for you. It comes with lead capture forms, works properly on phones, has analytics set up and is SEO and GEO ready from launch. Copywriting is included, so you don't have to find the words yourself.

One page holds more than you'd expect: who you are, the jobs you take on, the towns you cover, your scheme registration, a few reviews, photos of your own work and a call button. For a sole trader who wins work by recommendation and needs somewhere credible to send people, that's enough.

When does an electrician outgrow a one-page site?

When you want to be found for specific jobs, not just your name. A driver searching for a home EV charger install, a homeowner pricing a rewire, a landlord with an EICR due and someone with no power at 8pm are four separate searches, and the people behind them want different things. One page can mention all four, but it can't win any of them.

Each of those jobs needs its own page, built around the questions that customer asks:

  • EV charger installs: what the install involves and the certificate they receive at the end.
  • Rewires: how long the house is disrupted, what gets replaced and how you leave the walls.
  • EICRs: what you inspect and test, how the report is set out and how you handle landlords with several properties.
  • Emergency call-outs: the hours you genuinely answer and the areas you can reach quickly.

That last page has to match how you actually work: list the hours you take calls, and leave out any cover you can't provide.

What does the lead generation website include?

Up to 20 pages, each one written for you. That's room for a page per job, a page for each town where you want work, and your home, about, reviews and contact pages. An electrician with five job pages and eight towns comes to 17 pages and still has space to add another town or a commercial page later.

Every page carries your registration, your number and a quote form that asks for the job, the property and the postcode, so you can price properly before you call back.

So why is a 20-page site this affordable? AI speeds up every stage of our work, from research and writing to design and build, and our team reviews each page before launch, in line with the Responsible AI Use Campaign's 10 principles, which we've signed. A traditional agency bills those hours to you. With us, the design is still custom and the build is still hand-coded, and you get far more website for your money.

What costs extra on an electrician's website?

On the one-page site, extra features are optional, so you only pay for what suits how you work. The lead generation site already comes with an AI enquiry chatbot, booking and calendar for surveys and EICR appointments, multi-step lead forms, a quote calculator for jobs with predictable prices and email and SMS automation, so no enquiry goes cold. Online payments for deposits are an optional extra on either site, and you choose your features when you price your site.

The other cost is being found. A new site starts with no rankings, and SEO is what builds them. Our SEO for electricians runs inside the DLR Growth Engine at £1,499 a month + VAT on a 12-month term, which also covers Google Ads and Meta Ads and includes a free custom website worth £4,500, yours once the term is complete. If you were planning a new site and marketing in the same year, compare that with buying them separately.

How quickly can you get a price and a live site?

Two minutes for the price. Answer a few quick questions in our instant price tool on your trade, the features you need, your content and your timeline, and it shows the package that fits, priced both upfront and monthly. Once the brief is signed off, sites go live in 5 days on average.

Before you start, gather what only you can provide: your scheme name and registration details, the towns you cover, the jobs you want more of, your call-out hours and photos of finished work. Those details are what turn a smart site into one a customer trusts. Our web design for electricians page shows how we plan an electrician's site page by page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay monthly for an electrician's website?

Yes. The one-page site is £149 a month + VAT and the lead generation site is £499 a month + VAT, both over 12 months with nothing upfront. After the 12 months you only pay for hosting.

Does a one-page site work for an electrician?

Yes, if you mainly need somewhere credible to send people who already know your name. Once you want to be found for EV chargers, rewires or EICRs in particular towns, you need the lead generation site.

Should my competent person scheme registration be on my website?

Yes, if you're registered. Name the scheme next to your phone number and on every job page, because it tells a homeowner in England they won't need to get building regulations approval themselves.

Do you write the website for me?

Yes. Copywriting is included in both websites, from the headlines to the about page.
