Be part of Oman's 2040 push
Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology aims to raise the digital economy's contribution from 2% in 2021 to 10% by 2040. Its AI programme, approved by the Cabinet on 19 September 2024, includes organising specialised training workshops for public and private sector employees.

Put the national AI policy into practice
MTCIT published the General Policy for the Safe and Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence Systems on 1 April 2025. The ministry describes it as a framework for the responsible, safe and effective adoption of AI, with ethical and sustainable use as a stated aim.
Responsible use comes down to habits at each desk. Staff practise checking every AI draft against its source before it's sent, keeping a person in charge of the final decision, and knowing which approved tool fits which job. We've signed the Responsible AI Use Campaign's 10 principles, and every exercise follows them.
Leave customer details out of AI
Oman's Personal Data Protection Law, issued by Royal Decree 6/2022 and published on 13 February 2022, sets controls on how personal data is processed. MTCIT's summary says the controller or processor must get the data subject's consent before processing, and that people can withdraw consent and ask for their data to be corrected, updated or deleted. Royal Decree 68/2026, published on 6 September 2026, amends some of the law's provisions.
Before staff paste a customer email into an AI tool, they need to know what your rules allow.
