DLR Media: a Top Technical SEO Company in Northern Ireland

In short

DLR Media is a 2026 Clutch Top Technical SEO Company in Northern Ireland. What technical SEO is, what to check before hiring, and how we deliver it.

Clutch has named DLR Media a 2026 Top Technical SEO Company in Northern Ireland. Technical SEO is the work that lets Google reach, read and index your website, and every other part of SEO depends on it. If you run a Northern Ireland business and you're deciding who should look after that work, this piece explains what it covers, what to check before you hire and how we deliver it.

What is technical SEO, in plain terms?

It's everything about your website that decides whether Google can get to a page, load it and make sense of it. Content and links get most of the attention in SEO conversations, but neither does anything for a page Google has never indexed.

Google sets out the minimum in its technical requirements for Google Search, last updated in December 2025. There are three. Googlebot mustn't be blocked from the page, the page has to work rather than return an error, and its content has to be in a form Google can index. Then Google adds the line every business owner should hear before they pay anyone for SEO: "indexing isn't guaranteed".

That's the floor. Above it sits the work that decides how well an indexed page performs: how quickly it loads on a phone, how clearly the site is organised so each service has an obvious home, whether old web addresses redirect properly after a rebuild, and structured data that labels your services, address and opening hours in a way search engines can read.

What does the Clutch badge actually tell you?

It tells you how Clutch rates us for technical SEO in Northern Ireland, judged by Clutch rather than by us. Clutch's help centre, in its 2025 guidance, sets the bar for any Top Company badge: a ranking within the top 15 of a directory page sorted by Clutch Rank. Reviews, it says, are the most significant factor in that ranking. And unlike Clutch's annual awards, which are issued periodically, badges update to reflect a company's standing at any given time.

Our Clutch profile, as it stands in 2026, shows the work behind the badge. In its SEO focus breakdown, technical SEO is the largest single share at 20%, ahead of generative engine optimisation at 15%, with website migration, link earning and content development at 10% each.

Read our profile the way you'd read any agency's. Look at who left each review, what work they describe, when it happened and which reviews carry Clutch's Verified label. A badge earns an agency a place on your shortlist, and the conversation that follows decides whether it stays there.

What should you check before hiring for technical SEO?

Technical SEO is hard for a business owner to judge from the outside, because most of the work happens where customers never look. These five checks separate an agency that will fix your site from one that will only describe it:

  • Do they make the fixes, or hand you a list? A report of problems is only useful if someone has the time and skill to act on it.
  • Is the evidence from your own data? Every finding should name the pages affected and point to your Search Console reports or the site itself, not a score from a generic checker.
  • Is there an order of work? Each fix needs its impact and its effort set side by side, so the problems costing you enquiries come before the cosmetic ones.
  • Does the plan cover every area you serve? If you take work in Belfast, Lisburn and Bangor, the site structure needs a clear page for each, and the agency should say how it will build them.
  • What happens if you rebuild your site? A new website without proper redirects can wipe out rankings the old one earned, so ask how they handle a migration before you need one.

Add one more test. Ask what they promise. Google says plainly that indexing isn't guaranteed, so anyone promising a ranking position is promising something outside their control.

Which technical faults cost a local business enquiries?

The ones that matter are the faults that stop a page bringing in work, whatever colour an automated report paints them. A service page that Google hasn't indexed can't appear for the searches it was written for. A page that loads slowly on a phone loses the visitor before your phone number appears. A rebuild that changed every web address without redirects sends visitors, and the value of every link pointing at the old pages, to an error page.

Structure matters too. If your site has one page listing every service you offer, Google has no clear match for a search about any single one of them. Separate pages for each service and each town give it that match, and give the customer the detail they came for.

Our article on what an SEO audit report should tell you and what to fix first goes through how to put these findings in order once you have them.

How does DLR Media deliver technical SEO?

As part of a full SEO service, not on its own. Technical SEO runs inside our Growth Engine, alongside daily SEO and GEO content and the backlinks that build your site's reputation. A member of our team checks each page before it's published, and the technical checks keep running as the site grows, so new pages don't bring new problems with them. Our SEO page sets out everything the plan covers.

The Growth Engine is £1,499 a month + VAT on a 12-month term, with no setup fees. It also covers your Google Ads and Meta Ads, with ad spend billed separately, and includes a free custom website worth £4,500, which is yours once the 12-month term is complete. That website is built with SEO and GEO in place from launch, so the technical foundations are right before the first page goes live.

You can see how that work applies to businesses competing for customers across Belfast and the surrounding towns on our SEO in Belfast page.

Can you get a technical SEO audit on its own?

Yes. If you'd rather know exactly where your site stands before you commit to anything, our standalone audits include a technical SEO audit, a full SEO audit, a local SEO audit and a combined SEO and GEO audit. Each is a one-off, paid piece of work with no ongoing contract.

It runs in four steps. A short scoping call agrees what the audit covers, the questions it answers and the access we need, and we confirm the price before any work starts. Our specialists then review your site, data and competitors, and you receive a report with findings, evidence and recommendations ranked by impact and effort. A walkthrough call closes it, with an optional strategy and action plan. The work is delivered remotely, so it makes no difference where in Northern Ireland your business is.

Frequently asked questions

What does Clutch's Top Technical SEO Company badge mean?

It's Clutch's recognition of our technical SEO work in Northern Ireland. Clutch gives Top Company badges to companies ranked within the top 15 of a directory page sorted by Clutch Rank, and says reviews are the most significant factor in that ranking.

Do you have an office in Northern Ireland?

No. We're remote-first, with no office in Belfast or anywhere else, and Dundee is our registered address only. Northern Ireland clients work with us by Slack, video call, phone and email.

Is a technical SEO audit free?

No. It's a paid, one-off piece of work. We agree the scope on a short call and confirm the price before we start, with no ongoing contract.

Will technical SEO get my business to the top of Google?

No. Google decides rankings and doesn't guarantee indexing. Technical SEO makes sure nothing on your site stands in the way, so your content and links get a fair chance to rank.
