Apex City Quay Hotel

Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa at the Forefront of C&E Technology

Apex Hotels has partnered up with a local digital company to bring first-class conferencing and event services to its customers.

Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa, located on Dundee’s waterfront, is a prominent hotel within the group’s portfolio, which boasts impressive C&E facilities, and is now working with a local company to bring the very best in virtual conferencing services to the hotel.

Not only will the services be available whilst social distancing measures are in place, but it will also be a permanent upgrade to the C&E offer available at Apex Hotels in the future, well beyond the pandemic.

Apex’s Dundee property is working with DLR Media, another local Dundee business, to provide the new digital business solutions.

Phil Bailey, Group MICE Sales Director, said: “At Apex we are aware that there is now a need for new ways for our clients to be able to continue to hold conferences, business meetings, and networking events.

“We aim to provide that solution whilst working with local businesses who will be on-hand to fit and set up all the equipment needed for each meeting – and our clients will be able to get their knowledge and expertise first-hand from each company.”

Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa have a total of ten meeting areas that can be privately booked, including the City Quay Suite which holds up to 450 people for a drinks reception.

DLR Media will be able to set up meetings online, allowing people to participate from the comfort of their office or home when they are unable to attend in person.

Phil continues: “This allows us to accept bookings for conferences of 400+ delegates which normally we wouldn’t be able to accommodate.

“This is not a replacement of our current conference offering, as always we are working on ways in which we can enhance our services and give our clients more options.”

The technology, which will soon be available to businesses, will allow them to not only hold standard conferences, but also provide users with the opportunity to network, break-out into teams, and take part in live tours. What’s more, it can all be recorded for those who may not be able to attend in real-time.

Phil added: “The future of C&E is a hot topic in the industry right now and we are working on how we can offer these services across our portfolio of hotels and are currently in talks with technology companies in Bath, London and Edinburgh too to make this a reality.

“I would encourage anyone who is looking at holding future events to get in touch to find out how we can build a bespoke package for you and your business.”
